So guys, I recently got back from the annual SCAD Career Fair in Savannah. I'm really glad I went, it was personally successful and I feel just being there in the midst of the action has helped me grow professionally. I got to talk to reps from BentoBox, Kiz Studios, Floyd County, and Cadillac Jack (they apparently make some AMAZING slot machines so that was interesting lol).
I've always had problems interacting comfortably with people I'm not familiar with. I stumbled SO badly through my first visit, but luckily it wasn't one of the companies I was really, really interested so that was kind of a throw away, but excellent practice. By the time I was at the last visit, I felt much better. Not 100%, but a lot less nervous than earlier. I learned a lot about what the companies are looking for, so next year when I go again, I'll be better prepared. Feels good to have some "links" to the inside, ya know? Been up since 4:30am, tis now 11:30pm and I have work in the morn at 6. Yaaayyyy >>
Today was a momentous day in the history of me.
